When it comes to winter in Texas, you never know exactly what you’re going to get in terms of weather. It could be 70 degrees or it could be bitter cold. But luckily for Cameron and Jacob, who wanted an elegant, cozy winter feel, the day turned out to be just perfect for them. Throughout the planning process, Cameron was a joy to work with. Determined to capture her vision, we worked very closely together over the course of a year to design every last detail. From the signage, to the draping, to the place settings and linens… we styled the entire event to make sure everything was cohesive and the clients’ vision was carried through. One of our talented artists, Sarah, did a watercolor of Blakely, the couple’s dog, so we could make the specialty cocktail menu special and unique to them - that ended up being one of my favorite details! It was so fun to surprise Cameron with the original watercolor on the wedding day.
This wedding sums up all my favorite things about the season - lush winter foliages, rich reds and soft whites, snow-covered branches, cozy blankets, and warm candlelight. But most of all, a sense of love and celebration. Cam and Jake wanted an elegant winter wedding, but most of all they wanted to enjoy a beautiful day surrounded by family and friends (and Blakely) to celebrate love and life. And that’s what I’ll remember the most from working with them.
