The Stems Story
Abby Daigle
Our story begins here in Austin, TX with owner + founder Abby Daigle.
Born into a long family line of florists, venue-operators, chefs, planners, and designers, Abby was raised by the creative professionals who helped shape the Austin wedding + event scene as we know it today. Her family home growing up was the prominent Barr Mansion, a historic estate turned wedding + event destination operated by the family since 1981. The Green Pastures property, what is now known as the iconic Mattie’s in South Austin, was also rooted and owned by the family until it was sold in 2015.
Launching her own career in 2004, Abby combined her breadth of floristry with event styling to bring the Stems brand to life - a completely full-service design experience for clients from one expert team of professionals.
“Flowers will always have my heart, but for me it goes way beyond the blooms in terms of what I see when designing an event for our clients.... I see the linens, the details, the draping, the lighting, the furniture selection, the layout, logistics... and everything that comes together to complete the look as a whole.”
21 years later, the Stems brand has now become a pillar in the Austin industry for providing visionary designs with seamless client-service, all backed by a full-spectrum team of specialists + resources with decades of experience.
As family began to retire in 2024, Abby has since stepped up to manage both her childhood home Barr Mansion in addition to the team here at Stems. In 2025 Stems Floral Design welcomed Barr Mansion as our sister company under the shared leadership of Abby as proud CEO + Owner of both brands.
