Working at Mattie’s is always a bit sentimental for me, as the beautiful, historic house was in my family for generations. We spent many a family reunion gathered together in the back, celebrating Christmas while the peacocks roamed and the kids played. While Mattie’s is not currently is not owned by a family member, there are still a ton of fond memories for me here (and even some family portraits still on the wall). It’s clearly a special place to me.
And every time we do a wedding there, it opens up new and wonderful memories. Ali + Brady’s gorgeous, late winter wedding will definitely not be forgotten. The weather was not ideal for their original plan, to get married on the porch steps - but looking at these images it’s evident than plan B was meant to be. The tent setup under twinkling lights and dripping greenery and delphinium provided an intimate, cozy and romantic backdrop to say the “I Do’s.” Magical is the word that keeps coming to mind.
Ali, Brady and both families were a joy to work with the entire process. And Kate with Wild Sky is always a design genius we look forward to collaborating with. And for everything to be captured by Sophie Epton… it’s just too perfect. What a stunning day it turned out to be, and I’m forever thankful to have been able to bring this vision to life for A + B.
