We take pride in creating anything you can dream up. From romantic soft looks to edgy, modern looks to vintage, chic looks—and everything in between! We are a full-service florist, meaning we do more than just design a centerpiece to put on your table… we help design your entire event with the purpose of creating a cohesive look and feel with the sophistication of our expertise.
ABBY DAIGLE
Abby Daigle—event producer, visual director, and owner of STEMS Floral Design—grew up in the wedding business here in Austin and literally has thousands of weddings and events under her belt. With a work ethic that would politely be described as “tireless”, she works endless hours to make sure every event is perfect and not only up to her client’s expectations, but to hers as well—which, with her years of experience, Abby herself is often the hardest to please. You would think that after thousands of events, one might not be as enthusiastic about the next—but one meeting with Abby and you will understand it is so much more than a job for her… it is truly a passion and you will see she is just as excited as you to see the big day come to life. Abby’s background is in wedding and event coordination prior to starting STEMS, which is an asset as a florist and designer to be able to see the big picture and plan accordingly. She walks into a room and does not just see the florals… she sees the layout, the flow, the linens, the signage, and all the other details that go into each and every flawless event. With a decade’s worth of experience in floral design, a commitment to her craft, an eye for detail, and a passion for bringing unique ideas to life, Abby’s mission at the end of the day is to have an unforgettable room that her clients will never forget.
COREY DAIGLE
Corey Daigle, manager of STEMS Productions, is responsible for hand crafting most of the rental items you see in our Productions inventory. Essentially it is his job to build the crazy ideas Abby comes up with. And married for five years, no one else can fill that role like Corey can. It is also his job to deliver and install these items—whether that means hanging crystal chandeliers out of a tree, or installing a gazebo for a ceremony site, or illuminating a ballroom with up lighting, or making tables that appear to float in mid air… Corey is usually the one behind it. Luckily for you he is not afraid of heights, because many of our designs put him in the ceiling of venues. And every day he manages to pull off the sometimes… (OK who are we kidding)… most of the time… not so easy to pull off ideas that we come up with. He is behind the scenes for most clients, but an invaluable member of the team!! His “jokes” also keep us going on busy days, and we thank him for that. Pictures speak louder than words, Corey’s artistry is featured all over the pages of STEMS Productions.
NATALIE D’AMALFI
Natalie Hamilton, designer and operations manager of STEMS, has an artistic touch and a keen eye for design, but it is her willingness to go the extra mile for her clients that sets her apart. As stated above, it is not just a job for us, it is a passion, and Natalie exudes that. It is literally her job to sit at her desk and think up all the ways in the world to make your event unique, special, perfect, gorgeous…. Natalie has been with STEMS since day one of its conception and has helped shape the company into what it is today. As our clients will tell you, she is one of the sweetest and most loyal people you will ever meet. She cares about you the moment you walk through our door and will not settle for anything less than perfection. Her years of experience in floral artistry is a strong asset for her clients and she will effortlessly guide you through the process of designing your special event. In addition to designing, Natalie is also responsible for coordinating the schedule and ensuring that each event is pulled off seamlessly and according to our strict timeline. In other words, she makes sure we are where we are supposed to be, when we are supposed to be. Trust us, in a world where this means juggling the timelines of the client, venue, our design team, and the planners, this is no small task—but she handles it with confidence and conviction. Natalie is a true leader, keeps us all in line, and we literally could not do this without her.
RUTH MAYER
Ruth, designer and production manager, is hugely responsible for pulling off each and every event. Do not be fooled by her size, her talent is immeasurable and she has the experience necessary to guide her clients in the right direction, while designing beautiful events. We lovingly refer to her as “The Hammer” because even though she is tiny she keeps us all in line—she manages the design team on prep days, and keeps everyone on task, and if the interns are not up to our expectations then, don’t worry, she will bring down the hammer… All joking aside, one design consultation with Ruth and you will love her—she is truly one of the most genuine and caring people you will ever meet, and she would do anything to make sure the end result is exactly as her clients have pictured. As production manager, she is largely responsible for the vast majority of the creations you see in our portfolio. She also sources all the supplies, including shopping for those very special items at antique malls or scouring the Internet for that something extra special—she leaves no stone unturned to gather up all the perfect details. Not only is she an artist, but she is extremely organized! …and that combination is hard to find in a person. Every client will get to know Ruth quite well since she works closely to ensure their events are finalized with all the proper details and final numbers at the end of the planning process. It is also her responsibility to source all the flowers from distributors all over the world and check the flowers when they come in to make sure the product is up to our expectations. And what’s more, with a background in fashion design, she hand-makes all our fabric draping, ring bearer pillows, aisle marker containers, fabric-covered boxes, plush fabric panels, etc. etc. Is it any wonder why we put the Hammer in charge? You are in good hands!!
SHEA MCFARLAND
Shea, designer and resident artist on staff, has a real eye for design and he is true talent. He is responsible for all the beautiful sketches that offer a glimpse into the day of the event for our clients. As our resident artist—sometimes that means carving a peacock out of floral foam, sometimes it means creating flower chandeliers that are suspended in the air, or even sometimes it means creating a painting of live art out of flowers. His work is also all over the pages of STEMS Productions and he is constantly innovating new creations for us to use in our designs—like our new line of farm tables or our hand-drawn chalkboard bride and groom sihlouettes to hang from the back of chairs. In addition, as one of the only male designers, he is also our “muscle” and we could not do sooooo many things without him. His many, many talents include floral design, wood work, sketching, installation concept management, metal work, custom signage, plastic work…. We almost hate to say it (because it will go to his head) but his lists of “talents” is too long to actually address. Joking aside, Shea has the natural ability and the patience to create amazing things when put to the test. We are talking about someone who, in the same day, has carved a dinosaur head out of a watermelon and then sketched out an orchid installation in the ceiling of the Driskill for a wedding client. Again, pictures speak louder than words… check out his “concept to creation” sketches on our blog! You are truly lucky to have this designer on your team!!
DON’T FOR ONE MINUTE THINK WE DO THIS BY OURSELVES
An entire team of professionals is needed to work each event. Our designers work tirelessly, at all hours, to make sure your day is perfect. There are many hard workers on our team, many of whom you will likely never meet, that are 100% essential to our success. They deserve much more praise than I can give them in a paragraph on the website. It takes an army to pull off most of what we do—and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
